The Veterinary Teaching Hospital offers a 12-month-long rotating internship program every year, in which the emphasis is mostly on critical care medicine. There is also an opportunity for one-year-long internship programs in the fields of surgery and equine medicine.

Interns spend long hours, many of which they operate as the only veterinarian in the hospital (e.g. night and weekend shifts) under intense conditions. These are challenging intellectually, emotionally, physically, and otherwise, but support is provided from all hospital doctors on an as-needed basis and the learning curve is very steep. To apply, one must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Israel, to be able to communicate in Hebrew at least to a reasonable extent, and to send a letter of intent, one’s curriculum vitae, and a complete transcript of grades (in either Hebrew or English) from one’s veterinary medical education. Candidates who have not graduated from the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine are requested to also provide 2 letters of recommendation written by their faculty and/or employers. Applications should be sent electronically by mid November.
